Linking to Your Catalog

If your library supports an online public access catalog, your library administrator can make links to it available from within NoveList Plus. This functionality is dependent on your OPAC allowing the execution of search URLs from outside of the catalog. This search will, ideally, be able to pass both an author and a title value in the search. Most OPACs do not have a limitation with this. We recommend that you check with your ILS vendor before submitting a request for catalog linking to us.

We previously found that the following catalogs do not support this feature:

When this feature is enabled, catalog links are inserted in your Result List and full record display.

The text used for the link can vary depending on your administrator’s setting, but it usually reads, “Check library catalog.” Clicking this link opens your library's catalog and searches by title and author.

Once catalog linking has been enabled by your library administrator, they can opt to link to document delivery services, book services, search engines, or any other linking servers.

If your library needs help setting up catalog linking from NoveList, contact us using the Feedback link in the top right corner of the NoveList screen.
