Installing/Renewing DynaMed Mobile on a BlackBerry Device
In order to use DynaMed on your BlackBerry, you will need to be running OS 4.1 to 7. DynaMed requires 48 MB of memory. You will need to disable “Mass Storage Mode” and enable “Media Card Support” if you are attempting to store DynaMed on a media card. Please refer to your BlackBerry User Guide if you are unsure of where to locate this setting.
Before you begin, you should have the following information:
- DynaMed serial number (Canadian Medical Association members, please see here.)
- Skyscape account user name & password
To request a DynaMed serial number:
- Send an e-mail request to dynamedsupport@ebscohost.com. Please include your full name and the name of your institution. Specify the type of device you are using and include a serial number will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
To install the BlackBerry Reader:
- Open the browser on the BlackBerry device and navigate to www.skyscape.com/reader.
- Download the Skyscape reader and complete the installation process.
- Answer Yes to the download resources prompt.
- Enter your Skyscape credentials or create a new account.
- Touch the back button on the Resources to Download screen.
To install DynaMed on your BlackBerry:
- Within the Skyscape app go to the Tools menu.
- Click Install Resource.
- Enter your DynaMed serial number and then click Continue.
- Select DynaMed to install and then click on Register and Download.
- When the product download is complete, you will be returned to the main Skyscape page.
To access DynaMed from your BlackBerry:
- Launch the DynaMed App.
- Begin searching DynaMed from your device.
To renew your DynaMed Mobile access when a serial number expires:
Your access to DynaMed Mobile expires one year after registration.
- Contact dynamedsupport@ebscohost.com to obtain a new serial number.
- Enter the new serial number when requested.
To transfer DynaMed access to a new device:
DynaMed can be installed on up to 5 BlackBerry devices. If you wish to install DynaMed to a sixth device, you will need to request an additional serial number.
