How to Access DynaMed on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
DynaMed is available as a native application from your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 5.1 or higher. Skyscape supports the installation of DynaMed on up to 5 devices of the same operating system. For example, if you have registered DynaMed on your iPhone, you can install it to your iPad using the same serial number.
Before you begin, you should have the following information:
- DynaMed serial number (Canadian Medical Association members, please see here.)
- Apple iTunes account user name & password
- Skyscape account user name & password (click here to create account)
To request a DynaMed serial number:
- Send an e-mail request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your full name and the name of your institution. Specify the type of device you are using and a serial number will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
To register with Skyscape and install the free DynaMed iPhone App:
Go to the iTunes App Store and search for DynaMed.
Download the DynaMed app to your device.
Provide your Skyscape credentials or create a new account, and provide your DynaMed serial number.
After creating your account, you are logged in.
Download the Skyscape app from App Store (click here).
Open Skyscape app and sign in with your Skyscape credentials.
Touch Install Resource twice to download DynaMed.
Once installed, launch DynaMed from the DynaMed or the Skyscape icon.
To install DynaMed updates:
Tap the Updates button in the navigation bar to view and download the available updates.
On the Updates screen, place a check in the box for the DynaMed update and tap the Download button at the bottom of the screen.
The Downloading screen will display the progress of your download. To cancel the download at any time, tap the Cancel button.
To access DynaMed from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Launch the DynaMed App.
Begin searching DynaMed from your device.
To renew your DynaMed Mobile access when a serial number expires:
Your access to DynaMed Mobile expires one year after registration.
Contact email@example.com to obtain a new serial number and then complete the following renewal process.
You are automatically prompted by the application to enter your new serial number when it expires.
In some cases, the app will remove itself from your device and you will need to reinstall the application with your new serial number.
To transfer DynaMed access to a new device:
DynaMed can be installed on up to 5 iOS devices. If you wish to install DynaMed to a sixth device, you will need to request an additional serial number.
