• First name last name (Diana Gabaldon or diana gabaldon) You can use upper or lower case.
• Last name, first name or last name first name (Gabaldon, Diana or gabaldon diana) You can use upper or lower case and you can separate with a comma or not.
• Part of a Name (tolk*, dian*)- You can enter a portion of a name if you cannot remember the exact name or spelling (tolk* will retrieve titles by Tolkien; dian* will retrieve diana, dianna, dianne, and diane). The asterisk is a wildcard symbol telling NoveList to retrieve any authors whose names contain the letters "tolk" or "dian" when they appear together.

For our scenario, we entered "diana gaba*" because we were not sure of the last name.
