• Not Case Sensitive - You can use either upper or lower case letters (house of niccolo OR House of Niccolo).

• Partial Titles Acceptable - You do not have to type the complete title ("rising dark" will retrieve the titles for Susan Cooper's young adult series, The Dark is Rising).

• Key Words from Title Acceptable - You do not have to enter all of the words in a title ("niccolo" will retrieve Dorothy Dunnett's The House of Niccolo series). Note that if there is more than one series with the word(s) you entered, NoveList will display the names of the applicable series as links and then you can choose the series that you are interested in.

• Primary Characters can be entered - If you don't know the name of a series, try entering the main character's name ("Kay Scarpetta" will retrieve Patricia Cornwell's series about that popular character). This is especially successful with mysteries.

• Leading Articles Unnecessary - You do not have to type "A," "An," or "The" at the beginning of a series name.

For our scenario, we entered "niccolo" because that is what the reader remembered about the series.
