Getting Around in NoveList showed you what searches, lists and features are available at each tab. It also introduced you to the basic pages in NoveList.

Searching the NoveList Database provided you with step-by-step examples for each type of database search accessible at the Search Our Database tab.

Using Additonal Content in NoveList provided you with an overview of the customized content at the For Readers, Readers' Advisory, and School Resources tabs.

This module of the Training & Support Center will show you additional features and tools in NoveList to maximize your use of the product. Each link includes information about the feature and, where applicable, sample searches or step-by-step instructions on how to use the feature. There is no order to this unit. Note that all pages have been formatted to print using your browser's printer so that you can print a page as a reference as needed. Scroll down to view all of the available topics.

Alerts and Saving Searches - Select this link to learn how to create alerts and save searches in NoveList. Note that there is also a printable help sheet for Saving Searches and Creating Alerts available at the Public Library or School Support Materials page (which can also be accessed from the Homepage).

Boolean Searching - This link provides information about the Boolean search strategies available in NoveList as well as a few NoveList features to further enhance the Boolean search capabilities.

Constructing a Search - Describe a Plot and the Boolean Searches require you to enter words that describe the kind of books you are seeking. NoveList takes the words you enter and searches its database for title records that contain these words. Select this link to learn more about how to effectively construct a search to maximize your results.

The Database used in NoveList - Click here for a brief description of the database, and where its data comes from. This information provides a context and foundation for using NoveList.

Personal Lists - As you browse and search NoveList, you can set up one or more personal lists. Click here to find out how to create, save, e-mail, or print personal lists. Note that there is also a printable help sheet for Saving Personal Lists available at the Public Library or School Support Materials page (which can also be accessed from the Homepage).

Sign In to My NoveList (Personal Login) - In order to save searches, create alerts or save personal lists, you must have logged in using the NoveList log in account that you have created. Click here for information on how to log in.

Wildcards - You can use the asterisk (*) as a wild card when searching in NoveList. Select this link to learn more about wildcards.
