Summary

1-Minute NoveList showed you how to:

  • Check NoveList to see if there is an Author Read-alike.
  • Search the database for similar books like Carolyn G. Hart's (or your favorite) if there isn't an Author Read-alike. This includes:
    • Select the type of search you need (For this example, Find a Favorite Author). Enter the author's name to bring up all the titles by that author (e.g., Carolyn G. Hart). Select one of the titles that was a favorite to view its title record (e.g., April Fool Dead).
    • View the clickable subject headings and click the "cozy mystery" subject heading. Click the Subject Search button.
This concludes the 1-Minute NoveList module.

To return to NoveList to begin browsing for your next book to read, minimize() or close () this window. Your NoveList window should still be open. (Click here if you don't know how to minimize or close a window.)

A few notes...

  • If you would like to have a copy of the steps from this demonstration (as a reference while you go into NoveList), click on the Public Library link on the Home page or click on Public Library Support Materials and select the "Find a favorite author" Help Sheet to print.
  • The Site Map presents all the pages of the NoveList Training & Support Center and allows you to jump to any section.
  • This module is NOT meant to be a tutorial. It does not cover all the searches, features or extras in NoveList. To learn about those, go to Searching the NoveList Database or Using Additional Content in NoveList. You can do this by clicking on the Home link or clicking on the "Next" button.
